Blues by the Bay

At the inaugural Blues by the Bay festival Saturday at the amphitheater on the Martinez waterfront, crowds came early to listen to bands on two stages, including, above left, Tablues with singer Deborah Devany, of Oakland; local artist Kyle Jester of Martinez, above; and the Saint Gabriel's Celestial Brass Band, left. Also performing during the day were the Zydeco Flames, and Frankie G. and the Conviction, before headliners Elvin Bishop and Marcia Ball took the stage Saturday night. The daylong festival also included an arts and crafts fair, microbrews, wines and food.
