He's a champ
Jake King, 9, of Pleasant Hill, with his parents, Patrick and Mary King, recently won the international title of the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest making 95 percent of his shots. He received the highest score in the area for the 9-year-old boy category, and then moved to district and regional finals before scoring a 25 of 25 in the Northern California contest. After tabulations, including those from Southern and Central California, Jake was declared winner of the state title, which put him in the mix for the international title. Jake just finished third grade at Christ the King Catholic School.

and following in the footsteps of his favorite all-time player and Hall-of-Famer Rick Barry, and favorite current player Stephen Curry, of the Golden State Warriors. The presentation for the state championship, and a basketball autographed by Rick Barry, was made to Jake at the school June 3, where he was accompanied by his parents, Patrick and Mary King.
