PLEASANT HILL--Police are looking for two men who tried to robbed a man at gunpoint Friday afternoon.

The incident was reported about 4 p.m. in the 300 block of Golf Club Road, just across the street from the Diablo Valley College campus. Two men approached a 23-year-old man, pistol-whipped him, then demanded his car keys, wallet and cellphone.

The victim handed over the items. One of the suspects was about to get into the stolen vehicle, but fled the area as the victim ran to call police. The victim's wallet was later located.

Police said the first suspect was a black or Middle Eastern male in his early 20s with a thin build and short dark hair. Police did not have a complete description of the second suspect, but said he was a Hispanic male adult in his early 20s with an average build. The pair were seen in a small electric blue hatchback.

Anyone with information about the attempted carjacking is asked to contact the Pleasant Hill Police Department's Investigations Bureau at 925-288-4630.
