PLEASANTON -- A 21-year employee of the Pleasanton police department was arrested and placed on administrative leave Wednesday after investigators discovered methamphetamine in her home, authorities said.

Police dispatcher Heidi Feathers, 46, was arrested just after 6:30 p.m. at her home on the 5100 block of Monaco Drive after an ongoing employee misconduct investigation led police to obtain a warrant to search her home, Police Chief Dave Spiller said.

Investigators discovered 2 grams of methamphetamine and various smoking paraphernalia in the home, and arrested Feathers on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.

Feathers was placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation, Spiller said. She will be arraigned in court at the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice on Monday at 2 p.m.
