He set his goal at 100 articles of clothing. With his good planning, execution and the help of his fellow Scouts, he collected 354 items. All of the clothes went to the Livermore Homeless Refuge. His Eagle Scout Court of Honor ceremony was held at the Elks Lodge in Livermore on Sept. 23.

Troop 924 has recognized Garren James Weiss, of Livermore, as it's 57th Eagle Scout. For his Eagle project, Weiss built and installed 60 bunk bed ladders at Sierra Bible camp near Lake Almanor in Canyondam. He worked with several experts to design the first ladder. He then organized and assembly-line process to build all 60 ladders in one day with the help of 35 volunteers. Then he and his team of 10 volunteers installed the ladders over Memorial Day Weekend. Garren is a sophomore at Livermore Valley Charter Preparatory High School.
