LIVERMORE -- Nonprofit groups in Livermore and Pleasanton are encouraged to attend one of two upcoming workshops in December to apply for grants totaling more than $1 million in 2013-14.

At each workshop, city staff will discuss grant programs offered in the upcoming year, including housing and human services grants in Livermore and Pleasanton, as well as Pleasanton community grants for youth and civic arts. Attendance at one of the meetings is mandatory in order to apply for grants in Livermore, and is strongly encouraged in Pleasanton.

The first workshop will be held Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Pleasanton City Council Chamber, located at 200 Old Bernal Ave. The second is slated for Dec. 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Livermore City Council Chamber, 3575 Pacific Ave.
