LIVERMORE -- To celebrate the holidays, the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District rangers have plenty of nature-themed offerings at Sycamore Grove Park in December.
On Friday, starting at 9 p.m., rangers will guide a night walk to view the spectacular Gemenids meteor shower. The group will sit and watch the meteors for about an hour.
On Dec. 16 at 2 p.m, attendees will have the opportunity to learn all about deer from around the world. And, at 2 p.m. on Dec. 22, visitors can join the 18th annual Great Yule Log Hunt.
Attendees are encouraged to put on their silliest holiday hat and join in the hunt. Afterwards, the hunters will gather around the fire, share some holiday cheer and make a yule log to take home.
All programs are subject to weather conditions.
There is a $5 per vehicle parking fee to Sycamore Grove Park, and a $2 donation is requested, unless other fees are specified.
