PLEASANTON -- A man robbed at gunpoint at a Pleasanton gas station escaped without injury Wednesday evening, and police are searching for a suspect who made off with his belongings, authorities said.
Officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at the Shell gas station at 6750 Santa Rita Road about 9:45 p.m., police said. The victim told police that he was filling his tires when he was approached by a man pointing a small silver handgun at him, possibly a revolver. The suspect told him he would be shot if he didn't give up his belongings.
The victim handed over his iPhone, wallet, watch, Louis Vuitton shoes and belt, and a San Francisco 49ers bag containing a #84 Randy Moss jersey and 49ers jacket, police said. The iPhone was later recovered a short distance from the scene.
The suspect jumped into the passenger seat of a mid 2000s, two-door, silver Acura CL driven by a female, who sped off heading eastbound on Pimlico Drive, police said.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male with brown eyes, 23 to 28 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 130 and 140 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black baseball cap underneath, which covered his hair. The suspect had a dark tattoo, possibly an animal print, on the left side of his neck, and several days' worth of facial hair.
