Volunteers are invited Saturday, Jan. 19, to help with a winter bird count and cleanup at the Upper Carr Lake habitat.
The bird count will be from 7 to 10 a.m. Planting native plants and cleanup take place from 10 a.m. to noon.
Tools and water will be provided as volunteers pick up trash, prune shrubs and trees and pull invasive weeds.
The lake is on East Laurel Drive between Constitution Boulevard and Sanborn Road in Salinas.
