FAIRFIELD -- A Pittsburg man was killed in a car crash in Fairfield on Tuesday, authorities said.

The 38-year-old's Cadillac was struck by a Nissan 300Z while making a left turn in his Cadillac across two lanes of Airbase Parkway at about 7 p.m., police said. The man, later identified by the Solano County Coroner's Office as Pittsburg resident Quincy Jones, died at the scene.

The 19-year-old driver of the Nissan, a Fairfield resident, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. Authorities are investigating whether the Nissan driver was racing another driver on Airbase Parkway, a thoroughfare connecting Fairfield and Travis Air Force Base.

On Sunday night, a 31-year-old father of three was killed when one of two cars racing near Lopes Road and Canyon Hills Drive struck his Mazda.
