NAPA -- Rookie wide receiver Juron Criner and the Raiders are $14,000 apart on the signing bonus portion of his contract, according to an ESPN report. That's not a lot of money, sure, but apparently it's enough to keep Criner away from training camp in Napa.

The report said the Raiders are offering Criner a $144,000 signing bonus, which is in line with where he was drafted in April. However, Criner's camp is pushing for $158,000, or $2,000 less than the player picked right before Criner.

Such a drop in bonus money is the norm for players picked in the fifth round. Yet, the NFL Management Council calls for bonuses for players taken with compensatory selections to drop more than the norm.

Criner is the only player on the Raiders roster not under contract. They already have signed five of their six draftees. The first practice is Monday.

The ESPN report cited the source as saying Criner "likely" won't sign a contract until the matter is resolved.

Raiders coach Dennis Allen isn't available to the media until Sunday afternoon. Criner could not be reached for comment.
