The Raiders claimed defensive back Coye Francies via waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday.

Francies had three kickoff returns for 66 yards with Seattle this preseason. His presence gives Oakland another return specialist to look at besides punt returner Roscoe Parrish, who was signed Tuesday.

To make room for Francies, the Raiders waived defensive back Conroy Black.

Francies played one year at San Jose State in 2008 after transferring from Oregon State. A sixth-round draft pick, Francies played in eight games with the Cleveland Browns in 2009 and 2010.

Zach Hurd, placed on injury waivers Tuesday, has cleared and was moved to the injured reserve list along with fullback Rashawn Jackson and offensive lineman Ed Wang.
