ALAMEDA -- Cornerback Shawntae Spencer and right tackle Khalif Barnes sustained "signficant" injuries in a 35-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Raiders coach Dennis Allen said Monday.

Spencer has a foot injury and Barnes a groin injury.

"I would expect they could miss some time," Allen said.

Spencer would be the second starting cornerback to be lost to injury in two weeks. Ron Bartell, the starter at right cornerback, suffered a broken shoulder blade last week and is out until late October on the short-term injured reserve list.

The Raiders will be looking for additional help at cornerback.

Barnes' replacement against Miami was Willie Smith, who joined the Raiders after being cut by the Redskins at the time the 53-man roster was formed. Smith did some "good things" against Miami, Allen said.
