The Raiders confirmed the signing of wide receiver and returns specialist Josh Cribbs Thursday with a team news release.

A three-time Pro Bowl selection with eight kickoff returns for touchdowns, Cribbs is coming off knee surgery. At 6-foot-1, 215 pounds, Cribbs is a large, physical return specialist in contrast to the smaller and faster Jacoby Ford, with whom he will compete for the role this year.

Cribbs had a career-high 1,809 kickoff return yards and three touchdowns in 2009, two years before the NFL moved kickoffs from the 30 to the 35-yard line, making touchbacks more prevalent.

While FoxSports.com has reported the Raiders will sign punter Chris Kluwe, the Raiders have not confirmed that transaction.

The Raiders also announced the signing of undrafted free agent quarterback Matt McGloin of Penn State. McGloin joins Matt Flynn, Terrelle Pryor, fourth-round draft pick Tyler Wilson and undrafted free agent Kyle Padron.

The Raiders also announced they had released linebacker Jerrell Harris and long-snapper Nick Guess.
