ALAMEDA -- Cornerback D.J. Hayden, recovering from abdominal surgery, was present at Raiders practice Monday and coach Dennis Allen believes he is on schedule to be ready for training camp.
Hayden, the Raiders' first-round draft pick, had scar tissue removed from his abdomen, a procedure which will keep him out the remaining two days of this week's organized team activity as well as next week's mandatory full-roster minicamp.
The No. 12 pick of the draft, Hayden had major surgery last November to repair a torn inferior vena cava, a vein that brings blood to the heart.
``Everything was as we had hoped and anticipated,'' Allen said. ``It's a little bit of uncharted waters but we still feel comfortable he'll be back and ready to go before we start training camp.''
The Raiders first day of pratice in Napa is July 25, and Hayden will be monitored closely until then.
``There will be a plan to get him in shape and ready to go so he'll be ready,'' Allen said.
