AMERICAN CANYON -- A Richmond man was arrested Saturday morning for driving a stolen vehicle, police said.

At about 6:30 am., police officers responded to a call of a suspicious man trying to steal toilet paper at a Chevron gas station, at 401 Main St.,

Upon arrival, the suspect, Jontue Thomas, 33, had already left without the toilet paper in a reported gold Ford truck, police said.

A gas station's employee managed to write down the license plate number and the officers determined that the pickup has been stolen from Berkeley, police said.

A short time later, an officer located the truck and Thomas at a residence in the 100 block of Rio Del Mar Drive, which was not his home.

Thomas was arrested without incident and a glass smoking pipe and two bags of methamphetamine where found during a search.

He was booked into Napa County jail.
