PLEASANT HILL -- The Contra Costa County Board of Education will hold a public hearing Wednesday to hear arguments for and against the proposed Summit K2 Public School Charter in El Cerrito. The school would be located within the West Contra Costa school district but overseen by the county board of education.

District trustees have denied the charter, but supporters have filed an appeal to county trustees. A final vote on the appeal is expected next month.

The meeting is at 5 p.m. at the Contra Costa County Office of Education, 77 Santa Barbara Road in Pleasant Hill. More information is available by calling 925-942-3380 or by visiting www.cocoschools.org. Click on "County Board," select "Agendas and Minutes," then choose Oct. 2.
