PLEASANT HILL -- The Contra Costa County Board of Education expects to vote Wednesday on the proposed Summit K2 Charter School, which was denied by the West Contra Costa school board in August.
Summit Charter Public Schools is seeking to open a new campus in El Cerrito that would serve 700 students in grades 7-12 within six years. Summit currently runs two schools in San Jose, two in Redwood City, one in Sunnyvale and one in Daly City. County staff recommends conditional approval of the proposed El Cerrito school.
The meeting is at 5 p.m. in the County Office of Education, 77 Santa Barbara Road in Pleasant Hill. More information is available by calling 925-942-3380 or by visiting www.cocoschools.org. Click on County Board Agendas and Minutes, then select the Nov. 13 agenda.
