RICHMOND -- The West Contra Costa school board will meet Wednesday to revise its anti-bullying and harassment policies, consider forming a Local Control Accountability committee, and review contract proposals from bargaining units.
The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. at Lovoyna DeJean Middle School, 3400 MacDonald Ave. in Richmond. More information is available by calling 510-231-1101 or by visiting www.wccusd.net. Click on Jan. 29 Board of Education agenda.
The board decided to update its policies after a federal Office of Civil Rights report last fall found rampant sexual harassment in the district. Then in November, a transgender student involved in a fight at Hercules High said she had previously reported bullying to school administrators, but no action was taken.
