A minor earthquake struck El Cerrito about 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 2.1 quake had a depth of about 2 1/2 miles, according to the USGS.
No serious impacts were immediately reported.
A 2.1 magnitude quake is described as minor by geologists. The USGS estimates about 1.3 million occur every year worldwide.
