TRACY--- Polcie say they have arrested nine men who attempted to flee after they were caught growing $300,000 in marijuana plants.

Investigators with the San Joaquin County Metropolitan (METRO) Narcotics Task Force responded to a home on the 1700 block of West Larch Road Tuesday afternoon, after receiving an anonymous tip of marijuana being grown there, said Les Garcia of the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

When investigators arrived, several men attempted to run, but all nine men found at the scene were arrested, said Garcia.

Investigators say the searched the home and found 205 growing, ready-to-harvest marijuana plants, and about 80 pounds of processed, harvested marijuana. The street value was estimated at $300,000.

Arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail were Tracy residents Gabriel Ochoa Valdavinos, 30; Jose Ochoa Valdavinos, 31' Antonia Diaz, 22; Jose Magallon, 36; Juan Ochoa, 25; Miguel Ochoa, 27; Jaime Alvarez-Magallon, 25; Zeferino Valencia, 49 and Alfredo Zavala, 48.

All were charged with cultivating marijuana, possessing marijuana for sale and conspiring to commit a crime. The two Valdavinos, Diaz, Magallon and Ochoa were also charged with resisting arrest.
