FRENCH CAMP -- Authorities believe they have captured or killed at least some of the stray dogs in a pack that has killed hundreds of goats in San Joaquin County.

The Record of Stockton reports (http://bit.ly/12o3f2b) that the pack has slaughtered at least 240 goats and several chickens in numerous separate attacks.

San Joaquin County Sheriff's spokesman Les Garcia says deputies and animal control officers have captured or killed 10 stray dogs in Stockton and French Camp over the past week, including two pit bulls killed by deputies.

The other eight dogs, which were captured, included pit bulls, a pit bull mix and two German shepherd mixes.

Garcia says he is not aware of any attacks since then.
