A meeting to discuss the Phillips 66 LPG Recovery Project will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rodeo Senior Center, 189 Parker Ave.
The special meeting of the Rodeo Municipal Advisory Council is an opportunity for the community to learn about and comment on the project.
The draft environmental report for the project states that its primary objective "is to recover for sale propane and additional butane from refinery fuel gas (RFG) and other process streams."
A result of the process would a reduction of gas sulfur emissions by about 50 percent and a lessened likelihood of flaring events at the 1,100-acre Rodeo refinery. Components of the project would be built at three locations and occupy about three acres.
