California's landmark renewable energy law to be signed on Wednesday
In a milestone for reducing pollution and fossil fuel use, Gov. Jerry Brown will sign into law Wednesday a bill that requires 50 percent of California's electricity to come from renewable sources like solar and wind by 2030.

Butt dials: Police dispatchers flooded with 911 calls
Butt dials, accidental calls from a person carrying their phone in their back pocket, are the most common accidental 911 call throughout law enforcement agencies. Google researchers this month released a report showing 20 percent of San Francisco's wireless 911 calls were accidental, adding to a 28 percent increase in wireless calls since 2011. On average, the researchers found dispatchers wasted an average of 74 seconds dealing with each call.
