Nick Speridon Jr.

Nick Speridon Jr., of Pope Valley, is the winner of the annual Nathan Strube Memorial Award. Presented Aug. 26 at the Goodguys 26th West Coast Nationals by the family of Nathan Strube, the award went to Speridon for his work on restoring a 1971 Dodge Demon.

The award will be given at the Pleasanton show each year to a young hot rodder who embodies the passion and enthusiasm for vintage cars as that of the award's namesake -- the late Nathan Strube, 13, of Livermore. Nathan was killed in a traffic accident on May 8 in Livermore.
