SAN RAMON VALLEY -- The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District's life-saving smart phone app will be presented at a White House "Safety Datapalooza" on Friday in Washington, D.C.
Fire Chief Richard Price will present the PulsePoint App at the morning gathering.
The PulsePoint App, that was designed by the fire department, helps let people trained in CPR know the location where a person may be suffering cardiac arrest.
According to a press release from the fire department, the White House event
is meant to highlight "innovators from the private, nonprofit, and academic sectors who have utilized freely available government data to build products, services, and apps that advance public safety."
Price was invited to the affair by the White House Office of Public Engagement, Office of Science and Technology Policy and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
