Blame it on a lisp.

Charlie Sheen is backpedaling madly after dropping an anti-gay slur at the opening of his new bar in Mexico. A video clip surfaced on TMZ of the "Anger Management" star using the slur during the Dec. 28 event at El Ganzo Hotel in Cabo San Lucas.

"I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one," he told TMZ, adding that he "meant to say 'maggot,' but I have a lisp."

Also attending the opening were Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, who performed at the opening, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, the New York Post reported.
