Volunteers needed on Lend-a-Hand Day
The Town of Danville is looking for volunteers to take part in its annual Lend-A-Hand Day event April 27.
From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., volunteers will help local seniors with spring yard cleaning. Individuals and groups are needed to assist in work crews.

Art show entries sought for third juried exhibit
Danville is inviting all accomplished, midcareer and emerging artists of all ages to apply for its third annual juried exhibition.
The exhibition theme is "All Figured Out." It will be on display June 28 through Aug. 12 at the Village Theatre Art Gallery. The exhibition is seeking figurative art work that can include figures of humans, animals and invented forms.

Meet the residents of Pioneer Cemetery
Pioneer Cemetery will come to life at 1 p.m. Saturday with a tour of the historic grounds, plus an historic re-enactment of valley pioneer Eliza Glass.
Beverly Lane, curator of the Museum of the San Ramon Valley, will lead the one-hour tour that will focus on San Ramon pioneer families. Pat Macsata will portray Glass.
The cemetery is at 6600 Donlon Way, Dublin. The tour is free, museum donations accepted.
The tour was scheduled by the museum to accompany its "What's In A Name, Tracing Our Valley's Early Families" exhibit that runs through April 20 at the museum, 205 Railroad Ave., Danville.
