With its heady mix of wine, food and rock 'n' roll, Napa Valley's BottleRock music festival has become quite the hot ticket. Sixty bands -- including Kings of Leon, Alabama Shakes, The Flaming Lips and The Black Keys -- will be playing May 9 through 12, and Napa's top wineries and restaurants will be pouring, slicing and serving, too.
You can still get in on the fun, even if you didn't score a ticket. The Bistro & Bar at Auberge du Soleil has rolled out a BottleRock cocktail menu -- including an Alabama Shakes cocktail that is shaken, of course, not stirred -- and they were kind enough to share recipes.
1 ounce Bacardi Coconut Rum
1 ounce Southern Comfort
1 ounce pineapple juice
1 ounce Pomm pomegranate juice
Combine ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker. Shake powerfully; strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with orange peel.
The Flaming Lips
3 slices jalapeño pepper, without seeds
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 ounce Ketel One vodka
1/4 ounce Veev Açaí
1/4 ounce Dr. Loosen Riesling Kabinett
Juice of 1 lime
Muddle jalapeño with sugar. Add remaining ingredients, shake with ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with fresh jalapeño.
