Kaiser offices coming Nov. 14 to Bishop Ranch
Kaiser Permanente will open the doors to a new three-story, 67,000-square-foot medical office building in the Bishop Ranch office park Nov. 14.
No surgical services will be provided in San Ramon, but a laboratory, pharmacy and X-ray services will be located on-site. Some 42 medical providers in primary care, women's health, medical and cosmetic dermatology, sports medicine and physical therapy are expected to move in. The facility will be at 2300 Camino Ramon. Hours there will be set so Bishop Ranch workers, including employees of Chevron, Ford, General Electric and JPMorgan Chase, can "pop in and get out," said Dr. Kai Kai Lam, a Kaiser pediatrician who will be the physician site leader at San Ramon. Family medicine, as well as the lab, radiology and pharmacy will be open 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., staying open through the lunch hour.
Kaiser has medical offices in Pleasanton, but the nearest Kaiser hospital is in Walnut Creek. The organization plans to open three new hospitals in Oakland, San Leandro and Redwood City in 2014. Some 376,000 members live in Kaiser's Diablo Service Area, which spans from Antioch, Martinez and Walnut Creek to Pleasanton and Livermore.
