DANVILLE -- Memories of the terrorist attacks of 2001 were revisited on Sept. 11 in a ceremony at the All Wars Memorial that was at times doleful and patriotic.
Young Scouts carrying flags turned the event at Oak Hill Park into a heartfelt celebration of red, white and blue. The public memorial was sponsored by local veterans organizations and the Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley. In addition to color guards, and a release of doves, there was music and a keynote address by Larry W. Seaton, Honor Guard Badge 106, who speech was titled "Honor Guard: Tomb of the Unknown Soldier." -- Kelly Gust, Staff
