Holiday fashions and boutique and generous contributions to local organizations have been a tradition of the Dublin/San Ramon Women's Club annual Holiday Fantasy event, and this year is no exception.
The 19th annual Holiday Fantasy Luncheon and Fashion Show will be Nov. 10 at the San Ramon Marriott, 2600 Bishop Drive. This event is always a sellout. Tickets, at $60 each, are available by calling 925-785-3395 or 925-413-5134
Co-chairs of this popular event are longtime club members Carol Lopez and Cary Farruggia, who announced that this years' beneficiaries will be Special Spaces, a nonprofit organization that creates dream bedrooms for children with life-threatening illnesses; and the Children's Emergency Food Bank, which continually provides food to local families in need.
The holiday event has raised and donated almost $300,000 to local community groups in the past 18 years, and the club continues to support its scholarship program and other community activities This year's fashions will be provided by Fuse Fashion Magazine. After the fashion show, attendees can shop at the Holiday Fantasy Boutique featuring Bay Area retailers.

listen up: "American We" is the name of a concert featuring the San Ramon Symphonic Band that will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center.
Come join the 55-member band led by conductor Larry Colon as it presents music that celebrates the rich American musical heritage with tunes composed by well-known and up-and-coming American composers.

OCTOBER means OCTOBERFEST: The Dougherty Valley San Ramon Rotary Club, with the support and collaboration of The Hop Yard American Alehouse and Grill, is hosting its inaugural Hopfest from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
The Hopyard is at the northeast corner of Camino Ramon and Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon. The event benefits the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation and the Dougherty Valley/San Ramon Rotary Foundation.
Come and sample craft beer from 15 different breweries, listen to live music performed by Naked Soul and purchase food from a selection of local eateries.
Participating local breweries include Schubros from San Ramon; Iron Oak Brewing from Pleasanton; and Altamont and Working Man from Livermore. Other featured breweries include 21st Amendment, Ale Industries, Bear Republic, Black Bear Republic, Black Diamond, Calicraft, Deschutes, Drake's, E.J.
