DANVILLE -- It was a three-day Veterans Day weekend in Danville this year.

From Saturday through Monday there was a Veterans Day open house at the remodeled Veterans Memorial Building on Hartz Avenue.

The event was meant to honor veterans and pay tribute to the community for supporting the new veterans building for the San Ramon Valley.

There were special military displays for the weekend, including uniformed mannequins, field gear, military vehicles and weapons. There were also veterans there to share their stories with the public as well as workers from veterans service organizations to answer questions.
