DANVILLE -- Thousands of revelers turned out Friday evening for the annual lighting of Danville's iconic old oak tree on Diablo Road.
Carols filled the air, the Snow Fairy used her fairy dust to magically turn on the lights, and Father Christmas was there to meet and greet the children. Music was provided by the San Ramon Valley High School Chorus and the Danville Girls Chorus.
After the lights came on, revelers moved into downtown streets where more carolers met the crowds and merchants served up refreshments.
