Fire chaplains to hold vigil for the departed
Trying to help those who have lost someone they love through the often difficult holidays, chaplains for the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District will hold their third annual Holiday Vigil on Sunday.
The event will be at 7 p.m. in front of the Danville Library, 400 Front St. It will include songs, encouragement and remembrances. Those attending the free event are encouraged to bring a photo to place on a remembrance wall. The event is open to all.
"The chaplains of the San Ramon Valley, including law enforcement and the fire district, know too well the hardship people face at this time of year, having worked intimately with many of those who have lost someone they love. This simple vigil is just one meaningful way to remember, honor and include a dear one as the holidays come upon us," said Chaplain Nick Vleisides.
Coffee and hot chocolate will be served.
