Nominate outstanding teens for good works
The San Ramon Teen Council is accepting nominations for its Outstanding Teen Citizen Award.
All nominees must live in the city limits and be in sixth through 12th grade. They should be high schoolers or middle schoolers who have made a significant contribution toward enhancing the city's quality of life during the past year.
To nominate someone, you must complete an official nomination form, which indicates whether it's for the High School or Middle School Outstanding Teen Citizen of the Year.
Organizers advise those making nominations to make sure the nominee would appreciate the honor, since he or she could be called for an interview. Nominations should also clearly depict the nominee's achievement, contribution and impact made to the community through voluntary service during the past two years.
Award winners will be presented with a plaque for their contributions to the city and invited to the City Lights Volunteer Dinner. To recognize an outstanding teen, complete an application at www.srteen.org.
The deadline is March 21 at 5 p.m. Applications should be returned to the Teen Council Advisor, 12501 Alcosta Blvd., San Ramon, CA 94593. For more information, contact 925-973-3272 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Theater gallery offers "Young@Art" program
Artists ages 5 to 11 are invited to unleash their creative energies at the Village Theatre Art Gallery from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 20.
The gallery will offer a "Young@Art program" for children as part of its current exhibition, "ARTful Women." Kids will be given an opportunity to learn about contemporary fabric art practices by making a fabric quilt mosaic with local mosaic instructor Jean Cernigoj.
Registration is required for the program, for which all materials are included, and is subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. Fees are $12 for residents and $14 for nonresidents. Private Young@Art experiences also can be reserved at www.villagetheatreartgallery.com.
