Would you believe there's a perfect pitched mouse that travels the world in search of elusive hidden notes? Not just any notes, this talented mouse, named, T.W.Strouse, is seeking Mozart's golden notes, which have escaped and are hiding all over the world.

Welcome to the wonderful adventures of "The Note Hunter: The Case of the Haunted Swamp," published by Beet Fizz, LLC, a mystery adventure for ages 8 and older and available as an e-book at Amazon.com. It is the latest creation of Alamo resident Cliff MacGillivray, along with his writing partners including Kelly Ward, who, in addition to writing, is an actor best known for his role as the T-Bird crew's "Putzie" in the movie "Grease."

"I was lucky enough to create this e-book with Kelly, who is also an Emmy-winning voice director and recipient of the Humanitas Prize for Children's Animation," said Cliff. Another co-creator of "The Note Hunter" is Phil Mendez, who has been winning awards for more than 40 years with his writing, drawing and designing. Cliff told me chances are many of us have seen his work without realizing it.

"Odds are Phil has created or worked on many properties you know and love. Let me just say that he has two paintings on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris. You don't meet many people who can say that," said Cliff. "Kelly and I have a lot of experience creating properties, and together we have previously sold a show to MTV. We decided to form Beet Fizz LLC to create and produce our own properties," he added.

He also told me about another contributor to the e-book is Dwayne Ferguson, who has years of experience working for leading entertainment and publishing companies and digitally painted their book. A trailer of "The Note Hunter" can be viewed at www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaoU_4tUqy0.

Bill Hood programmed the book and designed the website, which you can check out at http://www.notehunter.com. Cliff told me they were excited to come up with the e-book's concept.

"We created, developed and produced 'Note Hunter' because we loved the idea of a 3-inch hero, gifted with perfect pitch, who travels the world over, searching for the most amazing musical notes hidden within all different types of music," he said. "Music is the universal language. You don't have to speak German, French or Italian to appreciate Mozart's music, which made it easy for Mozart's golden notes to scatter about the world and hide themselves in every kind of music on every continent," added Cliff.

Phil was looking out the window of a plane one day, thinking about how small all the people and cars looked as they took off.

"Then it struck me how hard it would be for a mouse to travel that world. It has been lots of fun finding ways for him to get around on what is essentially the world's largest treasure hunt," said Phil in an email.

"The Case of the Haunted Swamp" has been released in black-and-white and color versions as an e-book on Amazon and can be viewed on all Kindle products. There is also a free Kindle reading app, available for every major smartphone, tablet or computer, and Cliff told me that distribution through other e-book retailers is coming soon and that limited edition hardcovers will be available later this year.

By the way, I learned that these folks at Beet Fizz LLC, which we now know is comprised of talented people who love music, adventure and storytelling, is present in numerous places, be it books, comics, film and television or perhaps adventure rides at Disneyland -- chances are their creative team has worked on it! Good luck to the e-book and especially, T.W. Strouse, may he find those hidden notes.
