Fourth annual festival to celebrate Earth Day
The town is hosting its fourth annual Earth Day celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on the Town Green at 400 Front St.
The free event will feature live music, including a performance by American Idol contestant Rachel Rolleri, of Monte Vista High School, as well as creek tours, rocket launches, solar racing cars and more.

Comedy fundraiser for serious problems
Enjoy a few laughs at Tommy T's Comedy Steakhouse in late April to help alleviate the serious problems of substance abuse and domestic violence.
The two-show comedy benefit April 27 will feature headline comedian Gary Valentine with comedians Mark Eddie, Kevin Farley and Jackie Flynn. Eddie will also be the emcee for the evening.
The benefit shows start at 6:30 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $35 for regular seats and $50 for VIP seating. All ticket sales will be donated to the Biletnikoff Foundation.
Fred Biletnikoff is a former Oakland Raiders wide receiver and Pro Football Hall of Fame member whose adult daughter, Tracey, was murdered by her boyfriend in 1999. Biletnikoff and his wife, Angela, started the nonprofit group to support young women recovering from substance abuse and provide education to prevent domestic violence.

Town seeks volunteers for commission work
Want to get involved with town government? The town is looking for community-minded residents to fill vacancies with terms starting on July 1 for three town commissions.
The Parks and Leisure Services Commission is seeking four members for four-year terms and a youth representative for a two-year term. The Arts Commission is looking for a youth representative for a two-year term. And the County Connection Citizens Advisory Committee wishes to fill a seat with a two-year term.
Applications are available at www.danville.ca.gov and must be submitted to the city clerk's office by 4 p.m. May 14. Interviews will be held in June.
