Is eleven the charm?
Running for Dublin city office 10 times without a win could discourage many people but not Sean Costello.
Costello said he intends to run again despite finishing fifth out of six candidates running for two council seats in the November election.
"It takes courage to run 10 times like I have," Costello, 51, said in a pre-election forum.
"I care about the city, and I want to help people," the disabled man said after the election. "I'm the one in the wheelchair. I want to show that disabled people have the minds and can do the job as well as anyone else."
For the record, Costello picked up 1,535 votes for council last month, 4,827 fewer than needed to win a council seat.
Costello said he will apply for a council seat if the City Council decides to make an appointment to fill a vacancy to be created in January, when Councilman Eric Swalwell resigns to begin serving in Congress.

Headline: " 'Christmas on Credit' Cuts Corners for Customers"
With the approach of the Christmas season it's time again to remind Livermore and Pleasanton families that your local stores are anxious to accommodate the Christmas shopper through the convenience of charge accounts.
Buying on credit is the easiest way to handle your gift purchases, from the angle of time and budgeting. You'll find that stores want to add new names to their list of credit customers. If it doesn't seem that a 30-day charge account is the best for you, the store may offer you a 90-day payment plan or some other type of installment account.
In any case, don't deny yourself or your family the pleasure of a really merry Christmas until you've investigated the many flexible credit plans.

Calls for bids for construction of the first additions to Amador Valley High School as authorized in a bond election will probably not be made until after the first of the year.
But trustees of the school still hope that construction on the new shop building and the homemaking department can begin late that month.
