SAN JOSE -- Sharks fans planning to attend Game 3 on Sunday at HP Pavilion could end up being part of a major traffic and parking mess because of street closings and other restrictions related to Cinco de Mayo celebrations in downtown San Jose.

The Sharks began spreading the word Thursday, hoping to convince fans to arrive early and to take public transportation to the arena for the 7 p.m. playoff game against the Vancouver Canucks. It should be noted, however, that CalTrain's standard Sunday schedule has no departure from the nearby station after 9 p.m.

For fans who do arrive early, the team is holding its annual playoff street rally outside HP Pavilion starting at 5 p.m.

Fans also should be prepared for delays entering the arena because of enhanced security measures.
