BERKELEY -- The Bay Area has another food delivery service.
SpoonRocket isn't quite a grocery delivery company, nor is it your neighborhood pizza delivery guy. The startup says it sells gourmet lunches and dinners that are delivered quickly and cheaply.
SpoonRocket delivers from Berkeley to Emeryville, offering two meal options each day -- one for vegetarians and one for meat eaters -- that cost $6 each and are delivered in about 10 minutes. Chef David Cramer, a 25-year culinary veteran who used to oversee restaurants in Napa, prepares the meals using local ingredients and free-range and hormone-free meat.
SpoonRocket was backed by Y Combinator, a startup incubator in Mountain View.
