Delonte West scored 13 points in his delayed season debut, Mo Williams added 24, and LeBron James 14 as the host Cleveland Cavaliers, back at full strength, rolled to a 90-79 win over the visiting Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday night.
Williams scored 12 in the fourth quarter — all on 3-pointers — and James added nine assists and seven rebounds for the Cavs, now 2-2 after an 0-2 start.
West's turbulent offseason caused him to miss all eight preseason games and Cleveland's first three of the regular season to deal with personal issues. He went 5-for-7 from the field in 24 minutes.
Spurs 113, Kings 94: Tony Parker scored 24 points, Richard Jefferson added 21, and host San Antonio kept Sacramento winless.
The Spurs got a strong performance from Manu Ginobili, who scored 13 points in a reserve role and corralled a bat that flew onto the court late in the first quarter. Ginobili knocked it down with his bare hand, picked it up and carried it off the court to a thunderous ovation.
Wizards 123, Nets 104: Gilbert Arenas scored 32 points, including a halfcourt buzzer-beater at the end of the first quarter, Andray Blatche scored a career-high 30, and host Washington overcame the absence of two-time All-Stars Caron Butler (bruised left knee) and Antawn Jamison (right shoulder) to beat New Jersey.
Chris Douglas-Roberts had a career-high 25 points
76ers 141, Knicks 127: Andre Iguodala scored 32 points, including the go-ahead three-point play in overtime, and visiting Philadelphia blew a 23-point lead before beating New York. Al Harrington responded to a demotion by the Knicks with a career-high 42 points.
ESPN.com reported that former Knicks point guard Stephon Marbury made good on his promise to show up for his former team's home opener and sit in the front row. But Marbury was asked to leave those seats when ushers examined his ticket and determined he was sitting in the wrong spot. Rather than relocate, Marbury left the arena just as the first quarter was ending.
Rockets 111, Trail Blazers 107: Trevor Ariza scored a career-high 33 points, Aaron Brooks added 28, and host Houston held on to beat Portland. The Rockets had to overcome a 42-point performance by Brandon Roy.
Bucks 96, Pistons 85: Rookie Brandon Jennings scored 21 of his 24 points in the second half, Hakim Warrick came off the bench to add 21 points, and Milwaukee won its home opener. Detroit's Richard Hamilton missed his second straight game with a sprained right ankle.
Mavericks 93, Clippers 84: Dirk Nowitzki had 24 points and nine rebounds, leading Dallas over winless Los Angeles. The Clippers made only one field goal over the final 7:12.
Note: The Denver Nuggets signed backup Renaldo Balkman to a contract extension and exercised the fourth-year option on guard Arron Afflalo, who was acquired from Detroit last summer.
