San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum won named the National League's Cy Young Award winner for the second consecutive season, it was announced Thursday.
Lincecum, who had a 15-7 record with a 2.48 earned run average, led the NL with four complete games, two shutouts and 261 strikeouts.
The 25-year-old Lincecum becomes the first major league pitcher to win consecutive Cy Young Awards since Livermore's Randy Johnson won the NL honor four years in a row (1999-2002). Johnson was Lincecum's teammate with the Giants in 2009.
Greg Maddux and Sandy Koufax are the only other pitchers to win back-to-back Cy Young awards in the NL.
