Kayla Pedersen had 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists, and No. 2 Stanford extended its home winning streak to 30 games with a 99-50 win over Pepperdine at Maples Pavilion on Thursday night.
All-American Jayne Appel added 18 points, nine rebounds and three assists. She also blocked three shots as the Cardinal (3-0) overcame a slow start to quickly break the game open.
Five Cardinal players scored in double figures. Miranda Ayim scored 14 points to lead Pepperdine (2-1).
Men's soccer
Adam Jahn, Ryan Thomas and Dominique Yahvavi scored for host Stanford as it eliminated visiting Saint Mary's 3-0 from the NCAA Tournament. The Gaels (10-5-5) were making their first tournament appearance. The Cardinal (11-5-2) travels Sunday to UC Irvine (6 p.m.).

San Diego State 86, Santa Clara 53: Billy White scored 17 points, and the host Aztecs (2-1) used an 18-0 run in the second half to rout the Broncos (2-1) in the West Coast Classic. Niyi Harrison led Santa Clara with 14 points.
No. 18 Dayton 63, No. 21 Georgia Tech 59: Sophomore guard Paul Williams scored seven of his 13 points in the final minute, including a go-ahead 3-pointer, in Dayton's (2-0) win over Georgia Tech (1-1)
UOP-Northern Arizona suspended: An outage that left 1,300 homes in west Flagstaff, Ariz., without power caused the suspension of the Pacific-Northern Arizona game with 8:52 remaining and the Lumberjacks leading 45-43. A decision on when the game will be continued is expected this week.
Arizona 66, Rice 49: Nic Wise had 15 points, seven assists and five steals, and Jamelle Horne scored eight of his 13 in the final 5½ minutes to help the host Wildcats (2-0) pull away from the Owls (3-1), coached by former Cal coach Ben Braun.

No. 12 Oklahoma State 31, Colorado 28: Third-string quarterback Brandon Weeden threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the second half, leading the host Cowboys (9-2, 6-1 Big 12) back from an 11-point deficit and a win over the Buffaloes (3-8, 2-5).
San Jose State: By Tuesday morning — one day after Dick Tomey announced his retirement — nearly two dozen coaches had notified SJSU of their interest in the vacancy, athletic director Tom Bowen said. Bowen, with the help of a half-dozen advisers, hope to pick a new coach by the middle of December.
Kansas: University officials are willing to talk with former players about allegations of abusive behavior by football coach Mark Mangino.
Mangino declined to return calls but defended himself Thursday night on his weekly radio program, saying there were "people who are embarrassing this program just for their 15 minutes of fame."
The university this week confirmed that it is investigating allegations of verbal and emotional abuse by Mangino. The probe by associate athletic director for risk management Lori Williams began Sunday after senior linebacker Arist Wright complained to athletic director Lew Perkins that Mangino had poked him in the chest while chewing him out.
