Nationals 8, Marlins 4: Bryce Harper homered twice for the first time in his career, and first-place Washington snapped a five-game losing streak. Harper grounded into a double play in the ninth, spiked his helmet in frustration and was ejected by umpire C.B. Bucknor. Kurt Suzuki hit his first homer with the Nationals, connecting in the ninth off Heath Bell.

Reds 6, Diamondbacks 2: Chris Heisey hit two of Cincinnati's four home runs, and the Reds swept the three-game series. Matt Latos earned his first win since Aug. 3.

Pirates 5, Cardinals 0: Pedro Alvarez homered and drove in three runs for Pittsburgh. Alvarez has seven home runs and 23 RBIs in 15 games against St. Louis this season.

Padres 8, Braves 2: Chase Headley hit a two-run single and left-hander Eric Stults won his fourth straight decision as San Diego won for the ninth time in its past 10 games.

Mets 3, Phillies 2: Lucas Duda hit a two-run homer and New York won its fourth straight.
