Oakland's Andre Ward, the world supermiddleweight titleholder, injured his shoulder and will likely have to reschedule his Jan. 26 bout against Kelly Pavlik, Sports Illustrated reported Wednesday night.

Ward, who improved to 26-0 on Sept. 8 after a 10th-round TKO of Chad Dawson, hurt his shoulder while training, sources told Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix. Sources also told SI that the fight will likely be held in late February or early March.

The 30-year-old Pavlik (40-2) was to fight Ward at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.

Ward, 28, is ranked the No. 2 best pound-for-pound boxer in the world by ESPN, trailing only Floyd Mayweather.
