UConn senior running back Martin Hyppolite was released from Portsmouth (N.H.) Regional Hospital Monday night, according to a spokesman at UConn.
Hyppolite was injured in a two-car accident which resulted in the death of a New Hampshire judge on Saturday. Hyppolite was a passenger in the car driven by Ryan Merchant.
Merchant's car collided nearly head on with one driven by Bruce Larson. The 74-year-old Larson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hyppolite returned home after being discharged from the hospital and he could be on campus in the next day or two.
Hyppolite saw time at both tailback and fullback during the 2012 season. He rushed for 69 yards, 50 coming on a touchdown against Buffalo.
