Rick DiPietro admits suicidial thoughts after Islanders demotion
Earlier this week, New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro was waived and sent down to the Islanders' minor-league affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.DiPietro was drafted in 2000 after playing a year at Boston University. In 2006, he signed a 15-year, $67.5 million contract. However, his career went downhill from there, as injuries took their toll. Since the start of the 2008 season, DiPietro only played in 47 games, spending a majority of his time on the disabled list.The demotion has ...
