Saint Mary's College men's basketball coach Randy Bennett is bringing yet another Australian to campus, hiring Marty Clarke to join his staff as an assistant coach.

Clarke has helped develop some of the Australia's top players, including former Gaels Matthew Dellavedova and Patty Mills as well as the Golden State Warriors' Andrew Bogut.

Before joining the Gaels, Clarke was a head coach in Australia's professional basketball league and an assistant with the Australian national team.

"I am pleased we were able to add such an experienced coach as Marty Clarke to our staff," Saint Mary's coach Randy Bennett said in a statement. "He has extensive experience as a player and as a coach at every international level and will make a major impact in our program."

Clarke attended the Australia Institute of Sport and played in the country's professional basketball league. He returned to AIS after his playing days were over and served as the school's head coach for eight seasons.
