POSITION: Running back

THE STAT LINE: Lozoya had 223 yards on 27 carries and scored five of the Vikings' six touchdowns in a 42-21 nonleague victory over Santa Cruz. In addition to touchdown runs of 13, 15, 18 and 7 yards, Lozoya also caught an 8-yard touchdown pass. He had two catches for 22 yards in the game.

Phillip Rei

SCHOOL: Campolindo

SPORT: Football

YEAR: Senior

POSITION: Receiver

THE STAT LINE: Rei did his part in the Cougars' impressive 42-27 nonleague victory over El Cerrito, catching seven passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns. All three of Rei's touchdown catches came in the first half as the Cougars built a 28-21 lead against the Gauchos' star-studded defense.

Natasha Skov

SCHOOL: Head-Royce

SPORT: Volleyball

YEAR: Sophomore

POSITION: Outside hitter

THE STAT LINE: Skov had 25 kills, including nine in the fourth set, in the Jayhawks' 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22 Bay Counties League-East loss to College Prep. She also had seven kills, four aces and eight digs in Head-Royce's 25-4, 25-10, 25-9 victory over Athenian.

Brooke Starn

SCHOOL: Monte Vista

SPORT: Cross country

YEAR: Sophomore

THE STAT LINE: A returning state qualifier, Starn took first place in the De La Salle/Carondelet Invitational's 3-mile girls varsity race in a time of 18 minutes, 55 seconds on a rain-drenched course.

BOYS

MITCH DANIELS, Concord, football, Jr. -- The quarterback completed 35 of 50 passes for 455 yards, four touchdowns and one interception in Concord's 36-33 win over Bethel-Vallejo. After Concord's defense produced a turnover, Daniels orchestrated the game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter.

JARED LUTY, American, football, So. -- Luty rushed for 100 of his game-high 177 yards after the second quarter as the Eagles rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to beat San Lorenzo 28-21 in overtime. Luty scored two touchdowns in the win.

GIRLS

CLAUDIA CHUNG, College Prep, volleyball, So. -- Chung had 30 assists as the Cougars beat defending Bay Counties League-East champion Head-Royce 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22.

KIMBERLY LIU, Amador Valley, golf, Sr. -- The USF-bound star shot a 3-over 75 to earn medalist honors at the Lone Tree Tournament at Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch. She also shot a 36 in the Dons' win over San Ramon Valley at Ruby Hill Golf Club and a 38 in a win over Foothill at Castlewood Country Club's Hill Course.
